The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Formula
SAE Hardrocker Racing Team is committed to excellence through teamwork,
professionalism, respect, and dedication. Our team designs and
manufactures a new race car from the ground up every year. We then
compete against other engineering schools on a international level. The
quality of our performance in engineering design is nationally
recognized.

Code of Conduct
Introduction
The Code of Conduct for the Formula SAE 2010 -
2011 Team is developed and agreed upon by all the members composing the team. It
is being used by the Formula SAE team to monitor its own standards and
commitments. Conduct
Principles
- Professionalism - FHR members will conduct
all work pertaining to the project, and control all actions related to the
project in a business like manner reflecting the level of quality and
excellence expected by its members.
- Respect - FHR members will have respect
for all faculty, advisors, fellow team members, and anyone related to the
team or coming in contact with the team regardless of race, sex, or social
station. FHR members will respect the time and work of their peers.
- Safety - FHR members hold safety paramount
in all their designs and actions. Create and promote a safe working
environment for everyone.
- Communication - FHR members will
communicate at all times to facilitate the project and develop well being
within the team.
- Cooperation - FHR members will work with
all other team members in a professional manner regardless of any personal
differences. FSAE team members will resolve personal differences in an
efficient and team advancing way.
- Participation - FHR members will
faithfully attend weekly team meetings, and be actively involved in them.
FHR members will not be discriminated against because of the amount of time
they have available to contribute to the team.
- Outreach - FHR members are sociable. They
emphasize that strength of the team is fostered in part by organizational
growth.
- Motivation - FHR members find fun ways to
encourage other members on the project. They help each other find intrinsic
motivation to attain diligence.
- Accountability - FHR members will fulfill
commitments by required date, or make immediate and appropriate arrangements
for proposed completion.
- Integrity - FHR members will work in a
manner that is honest, selfless, for the good of the whole team and the
whole project.
- Competency - FHR members will be expected
to understand and dependably complete required work without excessive
supervision. Members will be expected to ask how to do something when they
don�t know.
