Formula 2010 Car Manufacturing Underway   (2/14/10) The entire team has been hard at work since the end of the fall semester, including working through Christmas break with cold blizzards trying to slow progress. The primary goal at this point is to finish all manufacturing to obtain a driving car in less than a month (deadline above). The video was a great success - many members took part in making it happen. In the matter of 5 days, the video went from an idea to a 4 minute segment talking about the team and where we're heading. POET, RPM, and others joining FHR 2010  (2/14/10) Formula Hardrocker Racing has been busy over the past few months communicating with many potential sponsors. First, we have recently learned that the Hardrocker Racing and POET partnership will continue for yet another year. Recent Community Events: Schools Visits & Mall Expo  (2/14/10) A small group of FHR team members visited two schools over the past month to inform students about engineering, what it is, and how we go about designing such a large project like our FSAE car. In addition, during the last weekend in January the CAMP teams from SD Mines attended the Mall Expo. We first spoke to middle school students, followed by a visit to a local elementary school. 2008-09 Formula Future Setup Table Project  (3/26/09) Every year the SDSMT Formula Team gives the freshman and sophomores of the team the opportunity to design and build a project that will benefit the team and encourage underclassman involvement. The team had so many eager freshman and sophomores this year that we decided to split into two groups. This group decided to tackle a project that has been in the team's sights for many years; a suspension setup table. The idea was to create a platform that will allow the team to perform quick and accurate adjustments and suspension tuning even while on the road.  Read More >

2008-2009 Formula Future Shifter Project   (3/26/09) Due to the fact that the driver must take one hand off of the wheel to shift the car, usually while cornering, there is a resulting loss of control during this short time. Knowing this, the team decided to develop an alternate method for shifting the car while keeping both hands on the wheel.  Read More >
